I over heard a group of taggers on a bus talking about the Muni Graveyard and someplace called "shit creek". It definitely sounded like my kind of exploration endeavor. Anyone else know of these places?

Shit-creek (or S-- Creek) is the other name of the China Basin Channel.

If you've taken Caltrain south from King St. Station, you go past the end of "Shit Creek" near where the tracks curve out of the station yard. It's the pretty little park, almost under the freeway, with the gaily muraled waste processing station. There's walkways up and down the creek, I don't recall any yards there.

Hey, you know what, checking www.justfuckinggoogleit.com for "muni graveyard" brought up a bunch of interesting shit.
Judging from the photos on kingofusagoestojapan.com/pix_g...ls.php this isn't near Shit Creek (Mission Creek), it's further up, maybe between 20th and 24th/Toxic Tire Beach.

I was checking out this area last month, thinking when it gets nicer it might be cool to do a UE photo safari around there... starting around 18th & Illinions there's a lot of interesting shit, there's a small, ruined waterfront park that I can't find on any online maps right now, and heading north from there there's a bunch of industrial areas and ruins of various sorts.

A-ha! bittercyclist.blogspot.com/2005....html says the best access to the Muni Graveyard is at 24th & Michigan, through Warm Water Cove park. I think that's the real name of Toxic Tire Beach. (You non-SF people must be getting a lovely picture from these local nicknames for our waterfront features.)

I bet I know where they're talking about, near TT Beach there's a great big empty building on the water that looks pretty easy to access. Fuck, I'm out of town right now, but if you were willing to hold off on checking this shit out till I got back (no more than a few weeks) I'd love to come with.

there is a place near warmwater cove filled with dead buses and muni thingies, but I wouldn't call it a reaveyard. Lots of spray paint everything, lots of broken glass. Bordered by an abandoned warehouse on the landside, it also has strange ruins (look inside the 'basement' to the left and check out the metal tubes- they go down to water) on the water side. The other two sides are cove and an active factory, with occasional workers wandering around.

If you're approaching warm water from the land, the place is on the laft, and visible from the 'beach'. There should still be a hole in the fence/s and a path through the weeds to get over there.

i know this place - some people call iy gostyards, it's near tibe beach / warm water cove. the old spray-painted munis buses and street cars are not there anymore. they have been moved a few years ago. they might been moved inside one of the nearby warehouses on the same lot, but those warehouses are closed.
