Got a couple of snapshots of the UCB steam tunnels. Nothing thrilling but if you're curious what it looks like down there, here you go. www.mikeycosm.org/ucbsteam/index.html

do you know if they run underneath the clark kerr campus or is it just the main campus? have you noticed the old abandoned/vacant buidings at the CKCampus, like at the top of dwight street ( i think that's the one)? pretty neat. i think they're rigged to the cops tho.

I've heard much about these Clark Kerr tunnels. One source says they still use them for storage. I'd love to get in, hopefully I can find this guy again. Those big burned-out buildings are daunting because of all the broken glass but I'd definitely like to get on the rooftops where nature has reclaimed the space.

seems like a commando mission though

as far as i know they got closed up about nine months ago (right around the time this was posted). You used to be able to just pop down through the grates on the sidewalk in front of Valley Life Sciences Building, but now they are bolted up with some sort of bolt I've never seen before. Last time I was down there I met a guy named Spider who was living in there, but they when we saw him a month later he said they did a big sweep, kicked him out and sealed them up. In it's day with was definitely one of the best UE spots around because of the easy access and relative safety (you never felt like the floor was going to collapse underneath you).

we went down through the grate and popped out a door in the basement of Wheeler Hall. If you could pick open that door, it might be another way in.

if anyone's got another way in please please please post or send me a message.
