I'm in Seattle, got a few days to kill. Anybody up here who wants to show an out of towner some local UE? Drop me an email at my super-secret trams [at] mikeycosm [dot] org email address & I'll send you my phone #.
Mike
PS. It's been a few years since I've been here... what the hell did you guys let them do to the Frontier Room? Sheesh, a guy can't even turn his back for four years. It's like "invasion of the body snatchers", but with dive bars instead of people.

Re: UE in Seattle, Next few days?

Mon, June 19, 2006 - 3:48 PMEt tu, Rendezvous? Oh, the horror. Where do the old men go to drink now?
Ballard? Don't know much. A friend says "It's not just Norwegians and old people anymore!" But, I came from a show at the Tractor and wandered into Hattie's Hat. After a few minutes of looking at the light boxes above the bar I realized that I had been in before... I suddenly remembered having scrutinized those pictures once before, through a whiskey-soaked haze, while on some drunken misadventure with a friend who eventually OD'ed in 1997. Crazy. So that place is still pretty much the same.
So is the Five Point, happily. Even the juke box seems not to have changed much. I haven't been to the Croc yet, I need to, but I'm sorta scared of what I might find.
On my way to do the Underground City Tour, if I recall correctly from 10 years ago it isn't that visually impressive but I should have some pix posted in the next few days.
